The Opioid Crisis: A Call to Action
An interesting article on the current opioid crisis and the CDC’s attempts to address it. I see the overuse of opioids treatment and prescriptions every day as a workers compensation attorney. The current prescription policy is creating alarming increases in patients addicted to pain medications. I’m not sure what the answer will be……

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tara Frame
Senior Attorney
For as long as I remember, I wanted to be an attorney. My father and founder of the firm, Vernon Frame, was a practicing attorney for over 70 years serving the community before he retired in 2002 at the age of 80. I grew up watching him help the residents of Anne Arundel County, primarily Pasadena, Glen Burnie and surrounding areas, when they needed legal advice or representation. He went to work every morning and came home every afternoon whistling a tune and with a smile on his face. I remember going to work with my father on Saturday mornings and pretending that I was preparing for trial or drafting a client’s will.
I attend high school in Severna Park and subsequently moved to Baltimore where I attended the Johns Hopkins University and earned my bachelor’s degree. While at Hopkins, I played for the Blue Jay’s Women’s lacrosse team. After graduation, I went on to attend the University of Baltimore School of Law and graduated with honors. Growing up watching legal shows like “LA Law”, my dream was to become partner in a large law firm. With that goal in mind, I went to work for a mid-size firm in Baltimore, where my job was to represent defendants and insurance companies in auto accident and workers’ compensation cases. I soon realized that the type of cases that I was working on was not what I was meant to be doing. I felt that I was not helping anyone, but merely working to save the insurance companies money in their efforts to avoid paying injured people.
In 1996, after saying “no” to my father for several years, I accepted his offer to work for him. I went from helping the insurance companies to helping the residents of Anne Arundel County. Over the past 20 years, I have handled all types of cases as a general practice attorney. My experience in handling cases such as family law, bankruptcy, adoptions, guardianships, criminal matters, DWI and traffic offenses, etc., helps me develop an insight into my clients’ circumstances and situations, their personal experiences and their concerns. It is important to be able to identify issues that may arise throughout a case which may not be directly related to the claim but may be important in making decisions and strategizing for a clients’ future plans.
For the past 5 years, I have focused my practice on the areas of workers’ compensation, auto accidents and wills, trusts, estate administration and probate. Since working at Frame & Frame, I have exclusively represented injured workers, people hurt in car accidents and plaintiffs in personal injury matters. Over the years, I have been successful in recovering millions for our injured clients. I have also helped thousands of people to have peace of mind by assisting individuals and families with their estate planning, including the preparation of wills, powers of attorney, living wills, revocable trusts (also known as “living trusts”), deeds, and property transfers. When a loved one passes, I work with executors and personal representatives to administer the estate and handle all matters related to probate, including representation before the Register of Wills and the Orphan’s Court (the court that decides all estate related matters).
In 2003, we opened an office on Kent Island in Stevensville, Maryland, so that we could assist the residents of Queen Anne’s County, Kent County, Caroline County, Talbot County and Dorchester County with their legal needs.
My husband and I will soon be celebrating our 20 year wedding anniversary and we have two wonderful children, who keep us busy with soccer games, lacrosse games, and school events. In the summer, I spend my spare time with my family boating on the Bay, going to Ocean City and watching the Orioles play. In the winter, I enjoy skiing at Deep Creek and watching the Ravens.
For over 63 years, Frame & Frame has been committed to providing the highest quality representation with superior personal service. It is so fulfilling to be able to represent not only my father’s past clients, but those clients’ children and grandchildren as well, who return to us whenever they need legal advice or legal representation. It warms my heart to hear stories of my father and how he helped someone during a difficult time. I am proud to be able to follow in his footsteps and serve my clients as he did for over 70 years serving the community.
