Estate Planning, Special Needs Planning, Elder Law, Probate, Long-Term & Medicaid Planning

Biography

When I first began law school, I was unsure of what area I wanted to dive into. All I knew was that I needed to be in an area that allowed me to help people through difficult or uncertain times. The summer of my first year, I reached out to a friend I knew who had worked for an elder law firm in the past to see if there were any law clerk opportunities there. I was hired as a law clerk aiding the attorneys in elder law, probate, estate planning, Medicaid planning and guardianship and realized very quickly that this area of law was meant for me. I stayed with that firm for my law school career, running a low-income estate planning clinic with them during the school years and learning more about the necessity that is estate planning.

I moved from Kentucky to Maryland following my law school graduation and was hired as a family law attorney for a small firm in Towson. However, I was constantly looking for an opportunity to return to estate planning. The chance to help people in a very personal way and to guide them through some of the toughest decisions was extremely fulfilling to me. I was able to exercise compassion, empathy and care for clients who were hoping to find peace of mind by planning for the end of their lives ahead of time. When the opportunity with Frame and Frame presented itself, I jumped on it with no hesitation.

Most people shy away from estate planning as it invites conversations about what can be a difficult topic. However, that can lead to leaving behind those we love with unnecessary expenses, confusion and difficulties after we are gone. I want to offer understanding that this can be scary for some, but the weight that is lifted off of client’s shoulders will make the tough discussions worth it. Loved ones will be unburdened because client’s were able to plan for contingencies and various crises. This leaves people the room to simply focus on grieving and remembering the person they love and is in many ways a final act of love from said person to those left behind – an invaluable result of proper planning.

In my personal life, I enjoy going out with friends and returning home to Kentucky to spend time with family. My dog, Nori, also keeps me busy with hiking trails and dog parks! I love to travel and reading, as well as playing any and all sports. You may also catch me at the stables taking riding lessons most weekends!

I’m grateful for the opportunity to guide clients in this area in this position with Frame and Frame. I am always so happy to know that the people who walk through our door will leave with a plan and a sense of peace. I feel called to make sure that each and every person, as well as their friends and family, leaves with less weight on their shoulders.

I would be happy to meet with you or your loved ones and review your plan. I am always ready to explain the legal process so that you can understand all pieces of the process and develop your plan into actionable steps and documents. My goal is to listen to your needs, wants and hopes and get that turned into a robust and complete estate plan. If you or any of your loved ones need help with estate planning, elder law, probate or guardianship, please let me know!
